Recycling and storage advice please...U.K? - recycling storage bins

We recycle whenever possible, but I find it irritating to the huge containers, plastic milk and stacks of paper stored in the kitchen ... I filled the boxes with hot water, then press .. Flat, but we have a lot of the time the trucks come every two weeks .... My garden is far from home and with 2 small children do not regularly in the store I was going there, so that ended up in my kitchen in big bags ... not very conveniant. ... What can I shop? What should I do? I do not want to impede on the garden gate ....
